Climax is an early season fruiting variety that has large berries with exceptional flavour. The plant has a more open habit than some blueberries, which makes it an attractive garden specimen as well as a fruiting plant. Blueberries are very shallow rooted and loathe having their roots tampered, they prefer a cooler root zone, so layers of mulch help with this. Plants fruit on previous season’s growth, so be careful not to prune out the wood that will produce next season’s fruit. It is a good idea to plant at least two plants as cross pollination will improve fruit size and, more importantly, yield. Hedge: 1 metre apart. Height: 1.5 metres Wide: 1.5 metres.
