Apollo is one of the largest varieties of Feijoa, its plump, almost fat looking fruit ripen mid to late season. Apollo is a good option for areas where frosts hang around a bit longer. It is self-fertile, but plant a couple to make sure you get plenty of fruit. The bright red flowers add a festive touch when they appear in December. Feijoas make a fantastic hedge and will tolerate wind and coastal conditions. They can also be planted in garden borders and used as ornamental shrubs and gap fillers. Frost hardy and prefer full sun. Hedge: 1 metre apart. Height: up to 3 metres Width: 2 metres.
