'Ballarat' is a heritage Apple from Australia dating back to the early 1900's. It bears large apples that begin to ripen towards the end of April. The fruit are green with a red blush. The flesh is a cream colour that is delicious and juicy. It really is a great apple to cook with and it stores very well. Deciduous. This variety is not self fertile but can be pollinated by Egremont Russet, Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Peasgood Nonesuch and Red Delicious.
