Misty is a neat variety with medium to large sized fruit, the powder blue leaves are just as lovely. This variety does need a cold winter to initiate the flower buds, so if you live in a frost free zone, don’t plant this one. Blueberries are very shallow rooted and loathe having their roots tampered, they prefer a cooler root zone, so layers of mulch help with this. Plants fruit on previous season’s growth, so be careful not to remove the wood that will produce next season’s fruit. It is a good idea to plant at least two plants as cross pollination will improve fruit size and, more importantly, yield. Hedge: 1 metre apart. Height: 1.5 metres Wide: 1.5 metres.
