Phalaenopsis are popular for gifts because of their long lasting flowers. Their blooms vary from pure white to spotted harlequin. They usually grow naturally attached to tree trunks in tropical climates so they do not like to be constantly wet. Given warm, draft-free, brightly lit conditions, Phalaenopsis can reflower multiple times and last a number of years.
