This versatile apple is hardy variety which cooks well. Originating from a very old tree in the Manawatu, this apple ripens late in the season. The skin has a shiny red stripe over a light green background. This disease hardy tree produces very large fruit that is high in health-boosting antioxidants (research done by Mark Christensen from NZ Tree Crops Association). Is not self fertile. Pollinators include Adore, Gala, Peasgood Nonsuch, Ariane, Golden Delicious, Pink Lady, Baujade, Granny Smith, Priscilla, Blenheim Orange, Hetlina, Red Delicious, Bramley's Seedling, Initial, Royal Gala, Dayton, Kidd's Orange Red, Divine®, Laxton's Fortune and Freyberg.
